As I finished studying Psalm 121 there is a peace that overwhelms me. As I journey along life's path and encounter obstacles as I look for help, I can rest assured that my LORD (Yahweh, covenant maker/keeper) is MY PROTECTOR. From this scripture we know that the maker of all creation has set Himself up to be our protector. He isn't like pagan gods that must have time for sleep. He never sleeps but is always on the lookout for our every step. He keeps us from tripping, falling and getting off the path to our "Jerusalem". What a wonderful Lord! As we face even the natural obstacles along this pathway, He is there to warn, guide and protect us. He protects us always forever. Those are all inclusive words. Praise God! Remember to begin memorizing this chapter as our memory verses. Try to have the first two memorized by our next class. We can do this together. Remember you are loved and protected by the One True God.

Psalm 121 and 122 has brought me to a breathtaking state of thankfulness!
ReplyDeleteJeru salem - City Peace - Jesus - our peace. In His crucified flesh He abolished our enmity (our status as enemy) with God which was caused by sin. Wow! Something we've known, but now understand so much clearer and deeper, more visually complete. We all have wanted peace in our lives: family, financial, physical, etc. We want peace in our world, and for Israel we pray specifically as Christians for peace according to the command in scripture. The peace we need to be praying for is Peace with God! Even if we had humanly perfect peace in our daily lives but did not have "The Peace" (through Christ) with God then we have nothing. We are temporary travelers through this life; our focus must be on that future hope He gives us through Jesus (our peace with God) that is FOREVER! My foot will not slip because my Protector never sleeps as I journey to Jerusalem the City of Peace - Eternal Life with God! What a victory we are living out every day as we journey protected by our God Who never lets our foot slip. Our feet are standing on holy ground already! Now my prayer is for The Peace that passes all understanding to be received by Jews and Gentiles, making us Jerusalem, City of Peace - solidly joined together as one with God. Now that is PEACE!
